UK
Many UK taught master's programmes take one year full-time. Key official costs and rules include:
Maintenance funds: £1,529 per month in London, or £1,171 outside London, for up to 9 months, plus your course fees. Funds must be held for 28 consecutive days.
Visa fee: £558 from outside the UK.
Immigration Health Surcharge: £776 per year.
Dependants: For courses starting from January 2024, only PhD and research-based higher degree students (and certain government-sponsored students) can bring dependants.
Graduate route: According to gov.uk, it lasts 2 years if you apply on or before 31 December 2026, and 18 months if you apply on or after 1 January 2027. 2027 master's students should plan for 18 months.
